Susana Trilling:
SEASONS of MY HEART
Cooking School in Oaxaca

Susana Trilling, a chef and former restaurateur from the U.S., now living in Oaxaca, México, has been exploring the wonders of Oaxacan food for the past ten years. She lives outside Oaxaca City with her husband Eric and her two small children. Eric farms the land outside their beautiful home, Rancho Aurora, which overlooks the Sierra Madre mountains. And each day, from this land, they gather fresh ingredients, both wild and cultivated.

Susana has been offering cooking classes at her school Seasons of My Heart for the past six years. Her classes, which are as much about the rich Mexican culture as about culinary techniques, are well regarded by culinary professionals. She takes her students to the markets to shop for local ingredients such as chiles and herbs and to the corn and chocolate mills and then it all comes together in her kitchen.

Susana’s cooking classes have been featured in such diverse magazines as Chile Pepper and Business Week. When not teaching in Oaxaca, she lectures throughout the United States. Recently, she has appeared in several videos about Oaxacan culture and food and has written a small book entitled The Search for the Seventh Mole. Her new PBS series and cookbook, both titled
SEASONS OF MY HEART: A CULINARY JOURNEY THROUGH OAXACA, MEXICO, are receiving great reviews from culinary professionals.
