Oaxaca, as most cities, has many hotels in varied categories, from luxurious suites with air-conditioning and cable TV to little rooms without much charm and many in between. A few have swimming pools, gardens and tennis courts. There are about six good hotels in the downtown or historic center area of Oaxaca. There are also two very nice properties located within a few a minutes (cab ride) of the main square that take you out of the hubbub. We have listed here in detail the six best hotels in Oaxaca Camino Real, Hotel Victoria, Casa Oaxaca, Holiday Inn Oaxaca, Misión de Los Angeles, and Hostal de La Noria (based on our own recent visits and comments from travel agents and travelers).
There are other nice properties such as the Hacienda la Noria, Hotel Gala, Marques del Valle and the Suites Colibrí. Finding the hotel that is just right for you poses no great challenge in Oaxaca.
And Huatulco awaits you with its simple elegance and gracious hospitality. It offers uncrowded vacation possibilities that are anything but the same. Huatulco is an unrivaled resort destination where you can really get away from it all.
You should remember that reserving a hotel room, especially during high season, should be guaranteed in advance through a company you can count on. You do not want to get bumped, moved to another hotel or arrive without lodging. While you may want to book directly, remember that the Oaxaca Hotel Group often has access to hotel space that might not be available to an individual one-time traveler.
Here is a quick reference guide for the Oaxaca and Huatulco hotels.
